Lots of people having trouble with Football Manager 2009 DRM

Posted on Friday, November 14th, 2008 at 3:02 pmShare this post

We’re noticing a large number of complaints on various forums about Football Manager 2009’s DRM (Digital Rights Management - an authorisation system that attempts to block piracy). Apparently people are having trouble getting their copies of Sports Interactive’s football management sim authorised. The official Football Manager forums are currently down, as is the official website, presumably due to thousands of people queuing up to complain/ask for advice. We’re not sure if this is because people are putting in the wrong codes or if the authorisation servers are overloaded, but we’ll keep you posted. Should’ve bought it for the PSP

  11. EXTREMELY ANNOYED, HAVE OWNED EVERY FOOTBALL MANAGER SINCE 2006, AND PLAY WHENEVER I HAVE FREE TIME, SO I DECIDE TO FORK OUT 30 POUND FOR THE GAME AND I CANT EVEN PLAY IT, HOWEVER MY FRIEND ALSO BUYS THE GAME, YET HIS WORKS AND HE DOES NOT NEED TO ENTER HIS CODE IN SOFT ANCHOR, SPORTS INTERACTIVE YOU HAD BETTER STEP YOUR GAME UP OR BE PREPARED TO LOOSE MASSES OF CUSTOMERS, ME BEING ONE OF THEM

  13. its funny, all thoose who have bought the game are having trouble becuase of si’s drm, but all thoose who have illegally downloaded the game have it working fine, without the need for activation.
as with all DRM it wont stop the pirates ,but it will piss off a lot of genuine customers.

  39. I brought the came and rushed home to play it, the moment i put the disk into my laptop it makes a loud crunching noise and it doesent get recognized, im so sad football manager is my favourite game and i can’t play it! i dont understand why its not working at all because every other disk works. I called them up and they said take it back to the shop, but i just think i will take home another new copy tomorrow and it wont work!

I might never get the chance to play it, makes me very sad. My laptop is a top of the range sony vaio. It seems there are so many problems with football manager, and they are covering it up. something needs to be done this is a disaster.
